The San Diego Gulls will open their 2025-26 season on the road against the Coachella Valley Firebirds on Friday, Oct. 10 and host the Henderson Silver Knights on Saturday, Oct. 18, the American Hockey League announced Wednesday.
It’ll be the Gulls’ fifth straight season that they open the season on the road when they visit the Firebirds at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, Calif. on Oct. 10. The last time the Gulls played at home to begin the season was the 2021 season when they hosted home games in Irvine due to COVID-19 restrictions in San Diego. They haven’t opened the season at home in San Diego since the 2016-17 AHL season making it nine consecutive seasons without a season opener at Pechanga Arena.
San Diego’s home opener on Oct. 18 will begin at 6 p.m. at Pechanga Arena and mark the team’s 10th season. This iteration of Gulls hockey began in the 2015-16 AHL season.
The full AHL schedule will be released on Thursday, July 10.
