The No. 4 ranked San Diego State Aztecs (25-0, 14-0 MWC) travel to Boise for an afternoon showdown with longtime Mountain West foe, the Boise State Broncos (17-9, 9-5 MWC).

According to ESPN, this game will be the closest of the Aztecs’ remaining games, standing somewhere in the neighborhood of a 72% favorite.

The Aztecs lead the all-time series, 13-7, most recently defeating the Broncos on Jan. 11, 83-65. The Aztecs dominated for most of that game but Sunday’s game is expected to be much closer.

Although the Aztecs are certainly favorites to win the rest of their games in the regular season, they cannot underestimate Boise State and expect to roll right through the Broncos.

The first time these two teams met, Aztecs guard KJ Feagin played his strongest game of the year, scoring 23 points against the Broncos after averaging seven points per game before that.

Since then, Feagin has averaged 12 points per game and is looking more like his old Santa Clara self. Feagin will look to continue his success against the Broncos in his second matchup with Justinian Jessup. Along with his 23 points, Feagin held Jessup to just seven points and a 16% field goal percentage.

The Broncos are led by guards Justinian Jessup and Derrick Alston. Jessup scores 15.7 points with 4.3 rebounds per game, while Alston averages 18.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.

On the other side, the Aztecs are led by Malachi Flynn, Yanni Wetzell and Matt Mitchell. Flynn averages 16.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and nearly two steals per game. Wetzell averages 12 points and 6.5 rebounds per game with Mitchell averaging 12.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.

The Mountain West showdown will tip-off at 1 p.m. PT. at Extra Mile Arena in Boise, Idaho. The game will be broadcasted on CBS Sports Network.
