The undefeated No. 4 San Diego State Aztecs (24-0, 13-0 MWC) play host to the division rival New Mexico Lobos (17-8, 6-6 MWC).

The Aztecs, winners of a Mountain West Conference-best 11 basketball championships, look to clinch the regular season Mountain West crown with a win over the Lobos on Tuesday night.

The Aztecs have five games remaining on their regular season schedule, not including the Mountain West Tournament, and have about a 65% chance of finishing the regular season with a perfect 29-0 record.

San Diego State is currently on the longest win streak in program history and are potentially on pace their first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Aztecs are 97% favorites according to ESPN.

The Lobos are led by JaQuan Lyle who averages 16 points, nearly five rebounds and five assists. New Mexico was destroyed by San Diego State 13 days ago from The Pit in Albuquerque, but the Lobos were without their star player Lyle in the lineup.

They hope him being active in Tuesday’s game will be enough to light a spark for New Mexico to upset the highly-favored Aztecs.

On the other hand, the Aztecs are led by many of their best players including Malachi Flynn and Yanni Wetzell. Flynn averages 16.5 points, four rebounds and five assists per game while recently scoring 17 points with eight rebounds and seven assists Feb. 8 against the Air Force Falcons.

Wetzell averages 11.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. The matchup to watch in this one will be Malachi Flynn vs JaQuan Lyle.

Aguek Arop is back to full strength for the Aztecs and will provide huge minutes off the bench.

Nathan Mensah is also expected to be back within the next month, according to head coach Brian Dutcher, and will be a great addition to the already elite team.
