In a game that met expectations of a Clayton Kershaw and Joey Lucchesi matchup, there wasn’t a lot of offense. Both teams combined for just one run, eight hits (Dodgers five, Padres three) and 22 strikeouts.

Lucchesi threw six innings allowed three hits and two walks while striking out six. He was charged with the game’s lone run, although, Chris Taylor scored on a play at the plate where catcher Austin Hedges dropped the one-hop throw.

Clayton Kershaw was every bit as dominating. He only allowed two hitsand one walk while striking out seven.

Josh Naylor, Luis Torrens and Wil Myers each collected hits for the Padres in a losing effort.

Padres will head to Arizona where they will finish the season with a three game series with the Diamondbacks.
