The San Diego Gulls battled hard against the Grand Rapids Griffins by earning a point, but they fell 4-3 in overtime.

Matthew Ford scored the game winning goal for the Griffins at 1:06 at overtime on a power play. Filip Zadina and Taro Hirose each recorded three points for Grand Rapids in the win.

For the Gulls, Troy Terry gave the team a brief 3-2 lead, scoring his third goal this season at 6:50 in the third period. Anthony Stolarz earned the lone assist, his fourth of this season.

Grand Rapids came back from a two-goal deficit after the Gulls jumped to a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period.

The Gulls and Griffins wrap up back-to-back games against each other Jan. 25. Puck drops at 4 p.m. from Van Andel Arena.
