The American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL) has been one of the more quieter leagues since the Covid-19 pandemic has postponed and cancelled many sports leagues around the globe.

According to a source, the AUDL has sent a return-to-play plan to team owners that includes a three-team pool play, Elite Eight and Championship Weekend.

The league also created a Covid-19 task force with medical professionals to create the safest environment possible for players, coaches and other team personnel to return.

The three-team pool play would consist of eight pools, each holding half the teams of a division. Each team in one pool would face each other twice before the winner moves on to the Elite Eight, or the division championship.

The Elite Eight will be a two-game series. If the teams split, a winner-takes-all 12-minute quarter would be played after the second game to decide the winner. The winner of this two-game series will move on to Championship Weekend where the semi-finals and finals will be played on back-to-back days.

“Lots of hoops to jump through still before this can even happen, if it even will,” source said. But they are heading in the right direction.
