Earlier this week, World Team Tennis (WTT) released a statement that they are still planning on having their 2020 season beginning on the regularly-scheduled July 12 at this point in time.

“We continue to monitor the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) closely as it continues to have a profound impact on the world, including upcoming sporting events like ours,” the WTT said in their statement on April 6.

This comes after the majority of sports leagues have cancelled their remaining regular-season games, and some even cancelled their postseason.

“Keeping our players, fans, and staff safe is at the forefront of our decision-making. WTT will continue to heed the recommendations by the CDC, WHO and United States government,” the WTT added.

If the season starts on time, the San Diego Aviators will host the Orange County Breakers on July 12 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
