The San Diego Mojo fell in their home opener in four sets to the Orlando Valkyries in front of 3,963 fans at Viejas Arena.
San Diego used a 5-0 run in the second set to take their only set of the match. They won the second set, 25-20.
The Valkyries won 25-23 in the first set, 25-17 in the third set and 25-15 in the fourth set.
Maya Tabron led the Mojo with 15 kills on the attack. Kendra Dahlke finished with 14. They both recorded a block on attacks.
While the Mojo committed just seven service errors to the Valkyries’ 16, they committed more reception errors (3-0) and attack errors (10-7) in their loss.
Orlando’s nail in the coffin was a 7-1 run in the final set that turned a 14-10 lead into a 21-11 lead as they comfortably defeated the Mojo.
