There will be another star forward joining the San Diego Wave when their national team players return from the Paris Olympics in August.
San Diego Wave signed French winger Delphine Cascarino to a three-year contract through the 2026 NWSL season with a mutual option for 2027.
"Delphine is a world-class player in the prime of her career. Her experiences at both the club and national team level will be invaluable to this team,” Wave Sporting Director and General Manager Camille Ashton said. “We are thrilled to welcome Delphine to San Diego. She joins us at a pivotal time and will make an immediate impact for us on the pitch.”
Cascarino will take the Wave’s seventh international player spot, giving them the maximum number of international players.
Cascarino joins a forward corps that includes Jaedyn Shaw, Alex Morgan, Maria Sanchez and Melanie Barcenas, among others.
She joined new Wave teammates Naomi Girma (USA), Shaw (USA), Kailen Sheridan (Canada), Kaitlyn Torpey (Australia) and Emily van Egmond (Australia) at the Paris Olympics which began on July 24.
