After the inaugural season, the San Diego Seals returned to Pechanga Arena for year two of San Diego lacrosse. After falling 8-2 early, the Seals could not get out of the large deficit and fell to Toronto, 13-6.

In the season opener on Dec. 7, goaltender Frank Scigliano saved 41 of 53 shots on goal (.774). In the first 15 minutes of Saturday night’s loss, the Rock managed four goals on nine shots (.444) to put San Diego into an early 4-0 deficit.

After his first quarter performance, Scigliano was taken out in favor of backup goaltender Nick Damude.

In the second quarter, Berg scored his first two goals of the night in the span of two minutes to double his season total to four.

The Rock added another four goals in the second quarter, in addition to their first quarter goals.

Damude saved 10 goals while giving up four in the second quarter.

At the half, San Diego was down by six, their largest halftime deficit since their 17-14 loss on April 6 last season, when they were down 11 at the half to the New England Black Wolves.

The Seals won the third quarter after Connor Fields scored San Diego’s third and fourth team goals within two and a half minutes. Wes Berg added on for the team’s fifth goal and his third goal of the night.

Toronto added just one goal in the third quarter after scoring four times in each of the previous two quarters.

The Rock put up the first goal of the fourth quarter and they began the scoring in each of the four quarters.

Berg added another goal for his fourth score of the night and sixth of the season at 6:59 remaining in regulation.

In the remaining seven minutes, the Seals went scoreless with the Rock adding one for a 11-6 Toronto victory.

The Seals drop to (0-2) on the season, and they remain winless against the Toronto Rock.

The Seals return to the arena on Dec. 27 against the division rival Colorado Mammoth. The game will begin at 7 p.m. from Pechanga Arena San Diego.
