The San Diego Seals signed Charles Claxton to a contract to become the new backup goaltender.
The Seals played short a goalie in their Jan. 25 game after starter Frank Scigliano tweaked his right leg.
Claxton played in three separate seasons in the Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) with the Langley Thunder (2017) and the Nanaimo Timbermen (2018-19). The 25-year-old played in 39 games in the league and went 13-17 with 1,348 saves.
Although Claxton signed a two-year contract with the Colorado Mammoth in October, he was released before he could play a game in the National Lacrosse League.
