MLS TEAM MAY CREATE SCHEDULING CONFLICTS AT SNAPDRAGON
During a press conference yesterday, head coach Casey Stoney told ESD reporter Abraham Zepeda that Wave would be “at the table” of the discussions between the Major League Soccer ownership group and Snapdragon Stadium executives, ensuring Wave still gets scheduling priority. Stoney expressed concerns about scheduling, especially with the three-match road trip they opened last weekend with a 3-1 loss to the Washington Spirit.
Snapdragon Stadium already hosts the San Diego Wave, San Diego Legion, San Diego State football, concerts, and international soccer matches coming up in the near future. Adding a Major League Soccer team to the mix, that prioritizes Saturday night matches, could create longer road trips for the other three teams.
