The San Diego Legion will host the Utah Warriors in a preseason match on Friday, Feb. 7 and travel north to play Rugby FC Los Angeles before that on Saturday, Feb. 1.

The Legion will face LA at 3:30 p.m. at the Cal State Long Beach Rugby Field in Long Beach, Calif. for the preseason opener.

They’ll host Utah at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. at 12 p.m. on Feb. 7 to finish the preseason slate.

Both matches will be free and open to the public.

The majority of Major League Rugby teams began their preseason camps in early-January ahead of the season’s start on Saturday, Feb. 15.

The Legion had their first full-team practice on Jan. 6.

The Legion will open their season with their biggest rival, the Seattle Seawolves, on Sunday, Feb. 16, in their first regular-season match at Torero Stadium since 2020.

San Diego lost in the Western Conference semifinal against the Seawolves last season, a year after they lost to the New England Free Jacks in the MLR Final.
