After falling in the season opener, the San Diego Sockers won the next seventh consecutive matches and advance to 7-1 and second place in the MASL Western Division.
The Sockers put up a goal in each quarter en route to a 4-3 win. Forward Taylor Walter Bond finished with his first multi-goal game, while Slavisa Ubiparipovic and defenseman Luis Piffer each recorded a goal.
Piffer’s first career goal came as the game-winner with a 3-3 tie going into the fourth quarter.
Goalkeeper Boris Pardo made 17 saves in his sixth win of the season. Pardo also improved his save percentage to .655 on the season.
The Sockers will return to the field Jan. 19 to complete their season-long four-game homestand with a 5 p.m. PT against the Mesquite Outlaws.
