The San Diego Sockers (11-3) finish their six-game road trip with the second of back-to-back Florida games as they take on the Florida Tropics (12-1) at the RP Funding Center.
Feb. 8 will mark the first ever meeting between the two teams.
The Sockers began their road trip winning the first game before losing back-to-back games for the first time this season. However, in their two most recent matches, San Diego scored eight and nine goals against the Sonora Soles and Orlando Seawolves for back-to-back victories.
Forward Kraig Chiles has scored eight goals and two assists in the past three games. In addition, he earned the MASL Player of the Week honors, the league announced Thursday.
Forward Slavisa Obiparipovic comes in second on the Sockers with 19 points in 13 games played (only behind Chiles who has 22 points in 12 games).
On the other hand, the Tropics are on a seven-game win streak, averaging 10 goals per game since their last loss on Dec. 28.
Florida forward Ricardo Carvalho ranks sixth in the league with 32 points in 13 games. In addition, he is tied for third in assists (17) this season.
Goalkeeper Hugo Silva has had a fantastic start to the season, averaging just 3.36 goals allowed per game, which is almost a full goal better than second place.
The game begins 2:05 p.m. PT between the Sockers and Tropics at RP Funding Center.
