The San Diego Sharks gave up the ball 27 times in their 109-93 loss to the unbeaten Long Beach Blue Waves in their home opener.
Fresh off a 95-89 victory on the road in Bakersfield on March 8, the Sharks looked to capitalize on momentum against the Long Beach Blue Waves.
The Sharks opened the game shooting 60% from the field, and making 3 out of 9 from the line in the opening quarter.
Guard Trace Dimeff, who played for the pro-am San Diego Swish, had 19 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal during the game. Dimeff showed off the skills from his time with the San Diego Swish, which really helped him a lot in this game tonight.
San Diego State alumni and Sharks center Kameron Rooks played for 17 minutes, scoring 10 points, three assists, seven rebounds and four blocks.
The turnover was a huge problem for the Sharks against Long Beach. They gave up 16 turnovers and trailed 51-48 at halftime. The Blue Waves finished with 15 steals collectively.
Long Beach came out of the half knocking down most of their shots than the Sharks. They made 24 of 46 shots from the floor and made 6 of 7 shots from the free throw line in the second half.
The Blue Waves got into foul trouble in the second half, giving the Sharks 23 attempts from the free throw line. They made 15 of those.
