The San Diego Gulls will open the 2023-24 American Hockey League season on the road at SoCal rival Ontario Reign on Friday, Oct. 13, and host them a week later on Friday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. at Pechanga Arena San Diego for their home opener.
The AHL released the dates and opponents for all 32 teams’ home openers with the full schedule set to be released tomorrow, July 12.
Last season, the Gulls went 2-4 against their region rival with both victories coming on the road. The Gulls held a 2-1 advantage to the Reign at Toyota Arena while going 0-3 at home.
The Gulls finished the 2022-23 season in last place of the Pacific Division with a 20-49-2-1 (43 pts) overall record. They haven’t made the playoffs since the 2022 season where they fell to the Reign in the first round, two games to none.
