The San Diego Gulls are in a playoff position for the first time this season after defeating the San Jose Barracuda, 6-3, at home.
Following the win against San Jose, the Gulls move in front of the Ontario Reign for fourth place in the American Hockey League’s Pacific Division.
Sam Carrick, Chase De Leo, Chris Mueller and Isac Lundestrom each scored a goal for San Diego in the win, in addition to Maxime Comtois’s two-goal performance.
Chris Mueller earned his 17th goal of the season, scoring to increase San Diego's lead to three.
Lundestrom grabbed his fifth goal of the season. He scored a goal at 11:29 in the first period.
Maxime Comtois scored a goal back in the opening frame, giving the Gulls the lead at 4:24 into the period.
The Gulls return to the ice Wednesday, Feb. 26 when they travel north to face the first-place Tucson Roadrunners.
