Kiefer Sherwood recorded his first career hat trick in a 5-3 win against the San Jose Barracuda.

San Jose grabbed the early lead back in the opening frame of the game 1:24 after the puck drop.

However, Sherwood became the second player in Gulls history to record a hat trick at home. Sam Carrick was the first Gulls player to record a hat trick last season on the road, and did it again in November this season to become the first Gulls player to have a hat trick at home.

Justin Kloos helped extend the Gulls lead with his ninth goal of the season in the second period. Kiefer Sherwood has recorded six goals in his last seven games.

The Gulls will play Feb. 1 against their rival the Ontario Reign for Pink in the Rink Night at Pechanga Arena.
