Coming off a nine goal win at home, the San Diego Gulls blew out the Ontario Reign on the road, 6-2, for 15 goals in the last three days.
Kiefer Sherwood got the Gulls on the board early with his fifth goal of the season. It was assisted by Chris Wideman at 2:53 into the game.
In the second period, Wideman made his fifth goal and Simon Benoit made his second. Assists made by forwards Justin Kloos, Hunter Drew, Chase De Leo and goaltender Anthony Stolarz put the Gulls up 3-1 with just 20 minutes left of the game.
In the third, the Reign brought the game within one with a goal at the two-minute mark, but the Gulls offense prevailed as Blake Pietila, Sam Carrick and Wideman each made goals of their own for the win. Alex Broadhurst. Daniel Sprong, Kloos, Jani Hakanpaa, Benoit and Isac Lundestrom each put up assists in the final minutes of the game.
Carrick scored his eighth goal of the season and extended his point streak to five games in which he has scored eight points.
Wideman put up two goals and an assist in another San Diego victory. Kloos and Benoit also assisted two goals each.
While recording his first assist of the season, goaltender Anthony Stolarz saved 23 of 25 shots by Ontario and worked his sixth win of the season with the Gulls.
The Gulls and Reign will rematch in San Diego Saturday night for Rivalry and Star Wars Night at Pechanga Arena San Diego. Puck drop at 7 p.m. (PT).
