The San Diego Gulls (22-17-4-2) will have a chance to split the weekend series against the Iowa Wild (32-14-3-2).
The Gulls are looking to get back to the win column, after being shut out 3-0 against the Wild.
Despite the loss, San Diego earned points in seven of eight contests. Anthony Stolarz should be a key factor after stopping 30 of 31 shots against Iowa last night.
Stolarz has a 8-1-1 record in his past 10 starts in which he has made 335 saves.
Center Justin Kloos, formerly with the Wild for three years (2016-19), has three points in the past three games, including a goal against the first-place Tucson Roadrunners.
The Saturday evening showdown will be the final game for the Gulls against a central division opponent.
The puck drops at 4 p.m. PT. at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa on AHL TV.
