The San Diego Gulls travel to Tucson, Ariz. for a 5 p.m. New Year’s Eve showdown at the Tucson Convention Center Arena against the first-place Tucson Roadrunners.
The San Diego Gulls have won four of nine games in the month of December as they look to finish up 2019 winning 50% of games in the last 31 days. They currently stand sixth in the seven-team AHL Pacific Division at 12-12-2-1, one point behind the Bakersfield Condors.
The Tucson Roadrunners began the month of December winning their first eight games, but lost both their latest matchups on Dec. 28 (4-3) and 29 (4-1). The Roadrunners are 12-4 at home this season, and enter with a 23-7 record and first in the Pacific Division.
San Diego won the only matchup between the two teams so far this season Nov. 30 at home in a 6-2 victory. Last year, Tucson was 6-2 against last season’s Pacific Division champs.
