The San Diego Gulls travel to Ontario a division rivalry night against the Reign. Friday night will mark the sixth game between the two teams where the Reign lead the season series three games to two. In three games thus far in Ontario, the Gulls are 1-2.
The San Diego Gulls won their latest matchup on Dec. 21 against Stockton for a 4-3 home victory.
The Ontario Reign, on the other hand, have lost their past two games and have been outscored 14-3 in those games.
Defenseman Chris Wideman has seven points in five games against Ontario this season, with four goals and three assists. The Reign will need to stop Wideman from getting the puck or it will not look good for the home team Friday night.
Left wing Jack Kopacka has four points since returning from the NHL with Anaheim and will look to keep that stretch going against the rivals in Ontario.
For the Reign, right wing Martin Frk has been an unstoppable force this season with 23 points in his first 26 games. Of his 14 goals, three of them have been power play goals, and another three have been for the win.
The Reign and Gulls will play from Toyota Arena in Ontario, Calif., with puck drop at 7 p.m. PT. The game will be available through AHL TV and the Gulls Radio Network.
