San Diego Wave FC defender Kennedy Wesley signed a three-year extension through the 2028 NWSL season, the club announced Wednesday.
Wesley was a first round pick by the Wave in the 2024 NWSL Draft and has played in 25 matches with San Diego.
“This club has a special place in my heart. To play for this city, for these fans, and to be part of this community is so special. Also, to play close to where I grew up and near my family is something every professional dreams of, so I am extremely thankful to the Club for this opportunity to continue representing San Diego,” Wesley said in a Wave press release.
She’s scored two goals in league play in those 25 appearances and has played in 13 of the club’s 17 matches this season.
From Seal Beach, Calif. in Orange County, Wesley played at the collegiate level at Stanford where she helped Stanford win the 2019 NCAA Championship and the PAC-12 title in 2019 and 2022.
