San Diego FC fell to Pachuca, 3-2, in the opening match of the 2025 Leagues Cup group stage. SDFC fell behind 2-0 at the half and trailed 3-0 until winger Emmanuel Boateng scored in the 88th minute and defender Luca Bombino made it a one-goal game in the 10th minute of second-half stoppage time.
